Spiritsworn is a Role-Playing game with an emphasis on exploration, suspense, and supernatural elements. The goal of the game is entirely dependent on the story that the Narrator presents in conjunction with the players' decisions. The players will take control of a character of their creation within the world that is presented by the Narrator.
This game can be played with a Narrator and a single player, however it is recommended to have a group of 3-5 players. Spiritsworn can be played in a single sitting in which a short story is presented and reaches a conclusion in a single session or it can be played over multiple sessions that span an extended period of time before its conclusion.
Playing Spiritsworn is as simple as the Narrator presenting a scene with choices to be made, or obstacles to overcome, and it is up to the players to engage with the scene according to how their created character would realistically interact in that situation. Rolling dice is the mechanic used during the game in order to provide structure to the narrative by determining outcomes to player choices.
This game is primarily a narrative exercise for a group of people to be creative and tell a story together. Utilizing theater of the mind to set the scene means that very few resources are needed to pick up the game and play. The following are recommended to start playing:

- RPG Dice Set (d4 / d6 / d8 / d10 / d12 / d20 / d100)
- Pencil or Pen
- People to play with
- A few hours of time to play
- A safe and comfortable place to play

Spiritsworn uses a game system created by Michael Castaneda to create dramatic scenes and ensure all players are involved in each moment. The Spiritsworn System presents deadly combat regardless of which Tier of Play it is and what enemy the players are facing. It creates tense moments of suspense in almost every roll, allows creative choices to rewarded, and promotes synergistic builds between players.
